Gifted Studio is a co-working space for music artist and producers. Users book studio sessions to record and produce their music. They use the common space to meet with their teams and work on the business side of their careers. I opened the space 5 years ago and throughout the time I’ve done many things to improve the experience for members and clients alike. As I engaged with customers I started spotting pain points for the users and for the business. My experience in studios enabled me to identify opportunities to improve UX for our customers & staff.
Uncertainty (studio time availability) In most scenarios client would have to call an engineer who works at the studio and then that engineer has to check availability with the manager or owner then contact the client to confirm a session. This also causes problems for the studio because clients schedule sessions then cancel the day of or they just won’t show up. Once the client shows up they pay at the end of the session and an invoice is handwritten, copied, handed to the client, & stored in with all the other invoices. You can imagine how time consuming and inconvenient this process seems but most studios operate in a similar fashion.
I solved this problem by developing a mobile-first website where clients & members can see studio availability and schedule sessions through our booking portal. We implemented an online chat system to help website visitors with real time FAQs & inquiries. All together this helps with uncertainty in scheduling studio time and captures the users interest when the impulse to create is felt.

TextBae<3 is a solution for businesses to better manage mass text messaging. It allows the user to add contacts, create groups and schedule messages. Companies usually have an internal communication tool like Slack or Flock, but not for reaching their target market. It allows the user to send messages directly to their phones and analyze the results of their campaign within the app.
